Having lost the toss and being asked to bowl first by Heidelberg on a beautiful day at Eltham Central Park, the boys got off to a great start with new ball pair Luke Money and Chris Salm each taking an early wicket, before Ben Money (1/30) came on first change to get a wicket and have Heidelberg 3/38. Heidelberg had an important partnership in the middle of their innings while the boys kept things tight, before Salm (2/27) came back and took the important breakthrough of Cashen with the score on 102. Dempsey Mills then took the crucial wicket of their highest scorer in Whitcher a short time later. Mills (2/49), Andy Villani (1/22) and Luke (2/25) came back for the death overs which included a wicket each and an important direct hit run out by Salm as Heidelberg finished their 45 overs to make 9/162 at the close.
With a tough chase on our hands, the chase did not get off to the ideal start, with the loss of Sean Money, Nathan Chrimes and Steve Villani with the score only 27. Ben Money then joined No. 3 Nathan Bragg and put on a crucial partnership of 62 before Ben fell for an important 14. Bragg continued to put together one of the greatest innings ever seen, receiving assistance from Chris Salm (13) and Andy Villani (21*) in partnerships of 29 and 36 respectively. Bragg eventually fell for 92 when he was caught behind with just 6 required victory, leaving Andy and Dempsey Mills to get us over the line and secure our 11th A Grade Premiership, passing Heidelberg's score for the loss of 7 wickets. Congratulations to all the players on what was a tremendous achievement. With Bragg deservedly receiving the Mark Minney Medal for the player of the match.

Having won the toss and electing to bat on another spectacular day at Whatmough Park against Rosanna. The boys got off to a good start before losing Brett Money with the score on 17. Xavier Youngman was joined by Calin Skiba as the two put together a partnership of 60 until Cal was run out at the non strikers end for 22. Elliot Smale then came to the crease, as X and Ell ramped up the run rate in a fast partnership of 54. Xavier fell for a fantastic 58, Ell eventually went on to make 67 off just the 48 balls, including an over where he hit 3 sixes. Skipper Mat Doyle (25*) put the finishing touches on the innings and wicketkeeper Tom Hewett hit a boundary off the final ball to take the score to 6/196 off our 40 overs.
Rosanna got off to a fast start in their innings before wickets to Jacob Bowden, James Hartigan and Ryan Gleeson (1/42) had Rosanna 3/96 at the drinks break. Rosanna continued to attack hard, with wickets crucial wickets to skipper Mat Doyle (1/28), Jacob Bowden (3/50) and Spencer Veal (1/27) meaning that with 3 wickets in hand, Rosanna would require 12 runs off 3 overs for victory. James Hartigan proceeded to take another wicket in the 38th over which meant that going into the last over Rosanna required just the 3 runs with 2 wickets in hand, Jim (2/20) bowled some fantastic yorkers and with Rosanna requiring 2 to win, Jim managed to field the ball of his own bowling and run out the numbers 10 and 11 at the non-strikers end, securing victory by just the solitary run. An extraordinary victory by the boys and one that needs to be seen to be believed.
